Very Peri: A new color for a new year

“A New Pantone Color Whose Courageous Presence Encourages Personal Inventiveness and Creativity.”

A few days ago Pantone presented a new tonality that will set the color trend for the year 2022: 17-3938 Very Peri.

It is a new and complex mixture of a blue shade fused with a purplish red “a dynamic periwinkle blue hue with a vivifying violet red undertone blends the faithfulness and constancy of blue with the energy and excitement of red.”, as described in its presentation post.

Last year, Pantone chose “Ultimate Gray” and “Illuminating,” a bright yellow, explaining that the two were intended to “express a message of strength and hopefulness that is both enduring and uplifting”. This year’s Pantone Color of the Year is “a reflection of what is happening in our global culture and expresses the response to what people are looking for in this color,” explains Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute.
